Issues Outside the MT-WY Project

Issues that are not within the MT-WY Connect project, but which do affect the project and are known problems with the Web, smart phones, iPads, Android tablets, computers, and so forth will be reported here as they come to light.

Videos Not Playing in Safari

Issue

Some have reported that videos—such at the instructional video that illustrates the use of a Google shared spreadsheet included in the Welcome page of this website—are not playing in Safari. At this point it is not clear why. Web searches reveal that others have this problem too, but the solution is not particularly clear. It might have to do with the Web server used for our website. If you have been able to watch the aforementioned video while using Safari, please let Rocky know.

Solution

The most satisfactory solution—fixing things so that all videos play in Safari—isn't known yet. However, all videos appear to play well in Chrome and Firefox. The recommendation is that you install Chrome on your devices and use it for viewing this website. It, like Sheets, is a Google product and will provide the most seamless support for the things we are doing with the MT-WY Connect project. You do not need to uninstall Safari, but you can use Google Chrome when Safari fails.

Google Sheets Find and Replace Problem

Issue

Find and Replace, in particular the Find part, does not work properly on some iPhones. This is quite befuddling. We have tested this with various versions of the iPhone, all of which had been updated to the latest iOS and Sheets app. On some iPhones the Find option works, on others it works fine for a while and then fails, and on yet others it "finds" but does not scroll properly and hence does not display in the sheet where what was sought was found. We got so far as to post the problem on the Web but have not received any responses to our request for help. We will let you know if we find a solution.
